Personality Disorders

Personality disorders are long-term patterns of opinion and behaviors that cause serious harms with relationships and work. People with character disorders have difficulty dealing with everyday stresses and evils. They often have stormy relations with other people. The exact cause of character disorders is unknown. However, genes and childhood experience may play a role.

Symptoms vary widely depending on the exact type of personality disorder. Treatment usually include talk therapy and sometimes medicine.
